Hello! I started writing this post as something quick...just a means to share the before and after photos of the furniture pieces in the August collection. As with almost everything I do (and why creating is such an important part of who I am), it turned into both a personal reflection as well as a product reflection. So, bear with me or feel free to skip ahead!
PERSONAL BEFORE AND AFTER
It has been such an adventure lately as I worked to complete the August collection (furniture, paintings and textiles!). You see, prior I had been creating one piece at a time, posting, selling and moving on. It was such a quick process and pace that my creativity was dissipating and other priorities in my life were slipping away. I was putting way too much pressure on myself and it was killing my creativity and ability to balance other very important priorities in my life. I had thrown myself in and needed to take a step back...rethink how I was doing things. I needed a slower pace, where I could find inspiration, get creative again, remember my vision, take care of the things I cared about and have things flow in a way that fit me and everything else that makes up my life (mom, homeschooling, family, pets, health, home...aka working could not be my first and foremost priority).
I decided to work on a collection - at my own pace, interspersed within the elements that make up my life; creating pieces that called to me and told a story that I felt deep inside. This is how the August collection came to be :-). It is a story of light, of peace, of calm. Of barefoot summers here in the PNW and the wonder of nature even when the days turn darker and shorter. A way to remember and have a piece of that in our own homes even on the gloomiest of days :-). I hope you feel that in this collection. I am so happy I made this change and so proud of what has come out of it!
FURNITURE COLLECTION BEFORE AND AFTERS
Now...the great reveal :-) haha. The furniture before and afters! These are always fun. Sooo much work went into each piece and I'm proud of every one of them. I love a good challenge and also learning new skills along the way. Take a look (and for more pics of each finished piece feel free to visit the Shop)!
