Hello! I'm playing catch up...I've had quite a few BM Dark Olive requests and the pieces have left my "studio" to go to their new homes before I've even had a chance to write about them! So - lots of creating...not so much on writing :-). With that said, I'll try and make these posts quick!
Now...about this dresser. It was beautiful to begin with. Solid cherry wood...it was almost hard to take a sander to it BUT it was just sitting in someone's garage taking up space and I knew that it was not going to get the true use and admiration it deserved in it's outdated form. Thus, makeover commenced!
I've started to make design plans to share with clients. Here is the one for this piece:
UPDATE STRUCTURE
I took off the outdated bulky legs/base and added new legs + a middle structural support. Usually, I use 4" but my client wanted this a little taller so we went with 5" instead. I also (at the request of my client) turned the pulls on the top to knobs! I think it turned out great.
SAND, PRIME, PAINT, FINISHING WAX
Primer + two coats of paint + touch up + finishing wax (Apologies - I must have not taken many pics of all this! This is all I could find. The downfall of not writing about each project immediately...)
CLEANING, NEW HARDWARE, MAINTANENCE
A good through cleaning, new hardware + candle wax rubbed on the wood drawer slides and it is now ready to...
STAGE AND SELL
I love how it turned out! My client is using it in her dining room for storage. These pieces really are multifunctional and look great in just about any room. Hope you enjoyed this post! Stay tuned for more to come!
