Dark Olive Industrial Black Dresser

A collection isn't complete without my favorite Benjamin Moore Dark Olive painted dresser! I decided to do black iron legs on this one and couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Read on for more about this makeover...

BEFORE

What a lovely piece! Solid, super heavy, gorgeously built dresser. There is damage on the base but that's ok...the plan is to updated those outdated legs anyway! Again, apologies for the lack of pictures in this post (I have yet to get the time to put the video I took/intended to pull together) BUT still wanted to tell the story of this piece!

PREP

I started by removing all hardware, sanding and removing/rebuilding the base. This requires ensuring the piece is structurally sound by adding a back brace which will also give a place to attach the T legs I've chosen.

PRIME, PAINT, SEAL

After a coat of primer, this piece is ready for two coats of Benjamin Moore's Dark Olive...the prettiest green color I've seen yet. If you want a good neutral green, this is it! Once painted, I used a matte wax to protect and seal.

HARDWARE AND LINER

To complement the black iron T legs I chose, I picked matte black pulls for the drawers. To line the drawers, I used a dark green olive leaf print wallpaper with a white background. The white is clean and crisp and the olive print plays off the paint. I am so happy with how this piece turned out!
