Ikea Dresser Refresh

Here is one that I did before...ready for a quick refresh (and also a quick post)! It was in great condition already, but I wanted to make sure it was perfect before going to its new home.

BEFORE

PROCESS

Since I was the one who refinished this in the first place, I knew that it was prepped properly (sanded, primed, etc) and I also knew the exact paint color (Benjamin Moore Kendall Charcoal), finish, etc. To remove the seal (matte finishing wax) that was on before and prepare the surface for another layer of paint, I used a fine sanding block. A good thorough cleaning and a swipe of the tack cloth to remove all dust/dirt and it was ready for a smooth layer of paint. Once completely dry, I sealed with matte finishing wax and replaced the hardware with a minimalist/modern look...which over time I have realized is my favorite and my go to.

AFTER

Voila! It was fun to refresh this dresser...especially now that I've had more practice and also know the look I love. If you have a refinished piece that's ready for a refresh, I hope this inspires you to just go for it...quick, easy and updated!
